WolfPack Women’s Basketball Sweep Fraser Valley
The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s basketball team is entering its Christmas break on a high.
The WolfPack swept the visiting University of Fraser Valley Cascades in two straight Canada West regular season games at the Warner Rentals Court. On Saturday (Nov 28), the score was 80-59.
Thompson Rivers raises its record to 6-2. Fraser Valley falls to 4-4.
TRU led from wire to wire at the Tournament Capital Centre: 19-12 after the first quarter and up 42-25 at the half.
“I thought we were very good in the first half, “said WolfPack assistant coach Chuck Ferguson. “They made it tougher for us in the second. These were huge games for us this weekend. To be in a hunt for 1-2, that means we are right there with MacEwan in the battle for top spot. I thought the girls looked really good tonight. We really shot the ball well. We haven’t done that for a while. I like where we stand going into the Christmas break at 6-2.”
The WolfPack forced the Cascades to turn over the ball 22 times in the contest.
