Vernon’s Sparkling Hill Resort bans children under 16, won’t host weddings

VERNON, B.C. — Vernon’s Sparkling Hill Resort is making news with two of its new policies.

As of January 1st, the world class facility is no longer permitting children under 16 at the resort in order to preserve what it calls a truly relaxing environment for its guests.

For the same reason, the resort will no longer hosts weddings or wedding related events.

Sales and marketing manager Jacqueline Birk says their spa has been adult only (16+) for a number of years, and they have not seen a lot of young children at the resort the last few years.

“Some people are very happy that we are becoming a true health and wellness resort,” Birk tells Beach Radio News in an email.

The 122 million dollar facility located south of Vernon near Predator Ridge Golf Resort, is owned by Langes Swarovski, the patriarch of the Swarovski crystal family of Austria.

Here is more information on the new policies at Sparkling Hill, as provided by the business:

Adult Only Policy (Aged 16+)
In staying true to our vision as a destination health and wellness resort, we strive to provide an immersive, peaceful experience to our guests. Children under the age of 16 had already not been permitted in our KurSpa, and as of January 1, 2019 we have extended this age limit to the rest of the Resort including guest rooms and other common areas in order to preserve this truly relaxing environment for our guests. We are first and foremost a wellness destination and have created this policy to honour the needs of our wellness guests.

Wedding Related Events
Our Resort no longer hosts weddings or wedding related events. While we do not wish to cause disappointment for guests looking to hold their engagement parties, ceremonies, receptions, or other wedding related events at the Resort, our primary focus is to provide a serene environment with minimal disruptions to our health and wellness patrons. In order to ensure that the needs of our wellness guests do not conflict with the needs of our wedding guests, we have chosen to decline all inquiries for these types of private events at Sparkling Hill.
