Kamloops speed skater shows well at interregional competition in Europe

KAMLOOPS — Local speed skater Sylvie Lloyd had a strong showing at the Benelux Cup this weekend, placing second overall in her division. 

Benelux Cup is a series of interregional competition between Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This weekend marked the third of four competitions this season. 

The 21-year-old Lloyd represents Ijsclub Tilburg out of the Netherlands. Her next short track competition will be the European Star Class in Bergamot, Italy, while her next long track competition will be the senior regional championship next weekend in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
