Vibe sweep weekend against P.G. Northern Penguins

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Vibe earned 6 out of 6 points this weekend against the Prince George Northern Penguins who are playing in their first year in the SCWHL. 

The first game of three Saturday morning at Mac Island Olympic, the Vibe score 3 goals in the first period.  Kiana Karoyli started Kamloops off from Melinda Smith and Gaylene Scott.  Less than a minute later Alyssa Reid from Scott and Sarah Botter give the Vibe a 2-0 lead.  Marjorie Boisvert flipped it in from Botter for goal number 3.  The second period the Northern Penguins put the puck behind the Vibe’s goalie,  Ashley Fisher.  The Vibe answer back with their 4th goal with less than 10 seconds left in the 2nd, Boisvert from Rochelle Smith.  The Penguins come within 2 halfway through the 3rd but Kamloops answers back with seconds left in the game .  Reid from R. Smith and Boisvert.  Make the final 5-2.

Saturday evenings game, Kamloops score only one goal in the first by Emily Edmundson from Melinda Smith.  The second period the Vibe find the back of the net 3 times; Reid from R. Smith and Boisvert, Boisvert from R. Smith and Jenna Ormondy brings Kamloops to 4-0 from Desirau Blair.   Boisvert from R. Smith and Reid make the final 5-0.  A shutout for Ashley Fisher. 

Sundays match up against the Penguins is less than 24 hours later had the Vibe up 2-0 in the first period.  Goals by Karoyli from G. Scott and Reid.  The Prince George Northern Penguins make it 2-1 in the second and 5 minutes into the third period they tie it up.  The play goes back and forth and with four minutes left Kamloops nets the go ahead goal by R. Smith from Botter.  Botter single handedly scores the Vibe’s 4th goal with Boisvert making the final 5-2 from R. Smith with a minute and a half to play in the game.
