KAMLOOPS — After a heavy snowfall across the Southern Interior this week, ICBC saw a 44 per cent increase in Dial-a-Claim calls.

In a news release the corporation says there were 191 calls on Tuesday compared to 131 calls the week prior.

“Crashes are at an all-time high in B.C. and during the winter months, crashes reach their highest point of the year,” the release states. “In the Southern Interior, 77 casualty crashes occur in February due to driving too fast for the conditions or road/weather conditions.”

During treacherous road conditions, ICBC is urging drivers to do their part to prevent crashes by adjusting their driving accordingly.
