Historical parade at Falkland Stampede will not happen this year

FALKLAND, B.C. — The historical Falkland Stampede announced yesterday that they will no longer have a parade at their annual event.
The group took to Facebook to confirm the news Wednesday.
The stampede said ongoing difficulty with getting a permit to close the highway was a factor in the decision.
“Every year it gets harder and harder to obtain the permit to close the highway during the parade and have it re-opened with the time restraint,” said the Falkland Stampede in a Facebook post.
