KAMLOOPS — Police say speed is likely a factor in a crash involving five teens earlier today.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Tranquille Road near the turnoff to Tranquille Farms just before noon.

The SUV was travelling eastbound toward Kamloops when the driver didn't negotiate a corner, and the vehicle went into the ditch, rolling several times.

There were five teenagers in the vehicle — four exited on their own and one had to be extracted by Kamloops Fire Rescue.

All of the occupants were taken to hospital to be assessed, and the injuries are not life-threatening.
